The Welsh Homestead Smokery, based in Penuwch, Ceredigeon, with its smokehouse at Tregaron, is a small company specialising in artisan foods, and it has a large range of products including smoked bacon, smoked lamb bacon, smoked chilli jams, smoked chillies and smoked salts.  The products are produced in small runs, and are now being sold through selected retailers in Wales.

“We are very much a growing business, and we want to offer our customers a wide range of smoked products,” explains Claire Flux, owner of the firm. “With over 40 different product lines, we realised that we needed good quality labels in small quantities, so that we could respond quickly to changing demand and not be stuck with years’ worth of stock.  Axicon Labels showed us that digital printing of labels could provide the quality we need, and with a quick turnaround.”

Axicon has been able to supply label quantities varying from a few hundred to a few thousand, and as the artwork was supplied as print ready PDF files, labels were delivered only a few days after the initial order.  Digital printing has meant that colour can be used to enhance the labels at minimal cost.
